FORMAT
The Meijer State Games of Michigan Open Karate Championships will be open to all styles and schools within the state of Michigan and surrounding states.
DIVISIONS
Categories: Forms, Weapons, and Sparring
Adults: Brown Belts & under, Black Belt
Senior (40+), Super Senior (55+) and Kids (6 to 17): Novice and Advanced
Novice = less than 1.5 years (white, orange, yellow belts) 6th KYU and Below
Advanced = 1.5 years or more (blue, brown and black belts) 5th KYU and Higher
*Must have at least 5 participants to hold a division
RULES
SPECTATOR FEE
$5 for adults
$3 for children 12 and younger
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Judges are asked to wear a uniform if judging
AWARDS
Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded for each division and gender (youth divisions will not be separated out by gender).
