The Meijer State Games of Michigan, the West Michigan Sports Commission signature event, is looking for interns starting now.

Media / PR Coordinator - Works to develop relationships with local and statewide media to increase the awareness of the Meijer State Games of Michigan. Duties include (not limited to): writing / distributing news releases, coordinating radio / tv interviews, results coordination, etc. Available: Winter / Summer / Fall
Event Operations Coordinator - Manages event logistics for the Meijer State Games of Michigan. Duties include (not limited to): sports equipment distribution, serving on local organizing committees, sponsorship fulfillment, etc. Available: Winter / Summer / Fall
Special Events Coordinator - Coordinates special events throughout the Meijer State Games of Michigan. Events include (not limited to): athlete village, pre-opening ceremonies activities, press conferences, etc. Available: Summer
Marketing Coordinator - Connects the Meijer State Games of Michigan with potential athletes as well as with various Michigan sports associations to spread the word about the Winter and Summer Games. Duties include (not limited to): Google Grant marketing campaigns, Facebook advertising campaigns, Constant Contact email marketing, direct mail, etc. Available: Winter / Summer / Fall
Blog Coordinator - Develops and maintain Meijer State Games of Michigan blogs and video blogs. Duties include (not limited to): research, write, edit and create layout for new articles and features, marketing duties, etc. Available: Summer
Video Production Coordinator - Intern must have the ability and interest in creating and editing video. Will assist in developing and implementing video strategy, work on video shoots, take video of events for future marketing, edit videos to promote event, etc. Available: Summer
Accounting Intern - Intern will be responsible for the accounting of the Meijer State Games of Michigan. Main responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card reconciliation, month end reconciliation, invoicing and collection, tracking and reporting. Intern will also become familiar with Quickbooks Premier Nonprofit Edition 2014. Other duties will be assigned as needed or as requested. Internship is January to August.
Fieldwork hours are also available for students looking to volunteer to fulfill requirements of their major.
