MEIJER STATE GAMES OF MICHIGAN OPENS REGISTRATION
FOR WINTER GAMES

Events will take place February 10-12, and February 17-19, 2023 and
feature 19 sports with an Opening Ceremony

Grand Rapids, MI., Jan. 12, 2023 ─ Officials with the Michigan Sports Alliance announced that registration has begun to open for the Meijer State Games of Michigan. The upper and lower peninsula events will be held Feb.10-12, and Feb.17-19, 2023. These sporting events are open to all ages and ability levels. The traditional winter sports festival will feature 19 sporting events at 21 venues. The Winter Games opening ceremony presented by Northern Michigan University will be held in Marquette, MI at the Marquette Mountain Resort on Friday, February 10.

Winter Games sports will include archery – indoor, basketball, bowling, cross country skiing, curling, darts, disc golf, fencing, figure skating, judo, karate, luge, ninja, shooting sports – pistol, ski and snowboard, sport stacking, swimming postal, snowshoe, and wrestling. Registration rates vary between sports and can be found on each sports’ webpage. Athletes that receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal in archery - indoor, basketball, disc golf, figure skating, judo, ninja, and wrestling are qualified for the State Games of America. For more information please visit: https://www.stategamesofamerica.com/

All registered athletes and spectators will receive free admission to the 2023 opening ceremony presented by Northern Michigan University. The opening ceremony will be held at Marquette Mountain Resort and will feature a parade of athletes, lighting of the cauldron, entertainment, and a rail jam competition. More information will be released on the opening ceremony soon.
