The anticipation of the Winter Games can make it hard to sit still. To make the days fly by and ensure that others are getting excited, here are a few ways for individuals and families to get prepared for the games. Share information about the games with others. There are volunteering opportunities for students that need volunteer hours, people that want to be a part of the games but not compete, and for those that are just looking for something to do during these winter months. Official 2023 merchandise is available for purchase. Athletes can get ready by practicing and making sure they are registered for an event.

Invite Friends and Family

Good times are always better when people we love are there to support! Tell friends and family about the Meijer Games and invite them to come along. From young children to seniors, the whole family can find a sport to cheer for or even learn more about.

Consider Volunteering

The Meijer State Games of Michigan welcomes back past volunteers and new ones. This is a great opportunity for students that need volunteer hours to fulfill a credit for school or other organizations. There is a variety of ways to be a volunteer. There are tasks ranging from delivering meals to checking in athletes. We will accept any help, and are in need of medical volunteers. Our Volunteers will receive a free Meijer State Games of Michigan giveaway and meals during the games. Outstanding volunteers have a chance to become the Meijer State Games Volunteer of the Year! Practice and Register

Winning is on every athlete’s mind. Competitors must work hard, and stay motivated. It can be easy to stay motivated when others are practicing with you. Get your family involved by inviting them on walks. Grab those cans of soup sitting in your cupboard and use them as at-home weights. Practice meditation and mindfulness to keep your mind sharp.

Don’t forget to register for an event! Figure skating registration has ended. That means there are only 18 more events that you can sign up for! The remaining events are archery – indoor, basketball, bowling, cross country skiing, curling, darts, disc golf, fencing, judo, karate, luge, ninja, shooting sports – pistol, ski and snowboard, sport stacking, swimming postal, snowshoe, and wrestling. Few events close registration within the first week of February, and others offer on-site registration.
