Athletes get free admission to the opening ceremony that will be held in June. At athlete check-in, they will receive a gift bag. The opening ceremony also features a parade of athletes. This parade highlights the participants in each event as they walk around the track at the Meijer Sports Complex in Rockford, MI. Athletes and their families will be entertained by the event by guest speakers and daring performances. The opening ceremony will finish with the lighting of the cauldron. This is a good chance for athletes to scope out the competition before their event.

Watch the games

Just being there to support a player is enough for us. There is bound to be an event that everyone in the family enjoys watching. It can be used as a learning experience to learn about a sport you may have never seen or heard of. It may even inspire you to compete next year. Athletes love looking into the crowd and seeing the people that matter most in their life. A strong support system will encourage them to push harder, run faster, and hit the ball farther.

The Meijer State Games of Michigan is a multi-sport, Olympic-style event(s) that welcome athletes regardless of age or ability level. The Games embody the values of participation, sportsmanship and healthy living.
