Plenty of highlights in first Meijer State Games of Michigan, but work's needed for 2011

Let the games continue.

It was a familiar refrain heard at multiple sites hosting numerous sports throughout the inaugural Meijer State Games of Michigan as the West Michigan Sports Commission staged its signature event this past weekend. Everyone, it seems, can’t wait to return to the Grand Rapids area for the next State Games.

The enthusiastic response didn’t surprise me.
