Kentwood's Mike Knuble carries torch at State Games of Michigan opening ceremonies

Upon learning he had been chosen to light the cauldron to open the inaugural Meijer State Games of Michigan on Friday night at Van Andel Arena, two-time Stanley Cup champion Mike Knuble had just one thought.

"I just don't want to drop the torch," the long-time Kentwood resident said.

Knuble called it an honor to light the torch to start the games.
