2014 National Anthem Contest Details
(Contest begins March 17)
Open to individuals residing in the state of Michigan
Contest is open to individuals only (No groups)
Amateur performers only- any singer that is paid will not be eligible
Entry must be sung a cappella. The performance at the games will also have to be sung a cappella
Entries must be a YouTube or Vimeo video
Entries must include the following information to be accepted:
1) Name 2) Age 3)Hometown 4) Phone # 5) Email
A judging panel will determine three finalists that Facebook fans will vote on
The three finalists will have their submissions posted on the Meijer State Games of Michigan Facebook page for the public to vote on. The contestant with most votes wins!
March 17: Contest begins!
April 16: Submission deadline
April 23: Top 3 finalists announced
April 23 - May 7: Public votes for winner
May 8: Winner announced
June 20: Winner will perform the national anthem at the Meijer State Games of Michigan Opening Ceremonies at
Fifth Third Ball Park
How to Enter:
Contestants must create an audition video that has been uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo and submit a link to this video by April 16th at 11:59 p.m. to: email@example.com
Contestants must put "I Can Sing" in the subject line of the email

Lauren St. Andre
Started singing at the age of 3 and has been taking voice lessons since she was 13. Performs for numerous singing events and competitions around her hometown of Riverview, Mich. Auditioned for season 11 of American Idol. Posts many of her singing videos on YouTube. Goal is to become a country music singer.
Graduated from Riverview Community High School in 2012. Currently attends Henry Ford Community College majoring in nursing and currently works as a patient transporter at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
